When you explain something in such a unnecessarily complicated and obscure matter that the listener is even more confused than before.
I thought I had understood the concept quite quickly, but he totally misplained the whole it confused everybody completely.

Misplain

To incorrectly explain.

The word is formed by combining the prefix “mis” with the verb “explain” and then shortening the result because it’s more fun to say it this way.
Yes this isn’t a real word and no, no one’s going to bother checking if you use it in a conversation…but you manage to get away with using a fake word and fooling everyone!
“It’s not my fault, I guess Ted just misplained the rules of the club to me.”
“Joe, it’s pretty common knowledge that you shouldn’t set your friend’s dick on fire.”
