Manna for the mindless

Manna for the mindless is a disparaging description of television programmes that do no more than fill up air time. The programmes that are banal, trivial and boring and which, if they were a person, would be described as a WOFS. You know the sort of crap, pretty well all of daytime television, soap operas screened at any time, moronic game shows, chat shows featuring liggers or z-list celebrities, the list just goes on. It is the sort of programme which doesn’t require dumbing down as it is targeted at fuckwits or insomniacs who need something other than drugs to help them sleep.
Before twenty-four seven television was inflicted on a long-suffering human race, manna for the mindless was typified by film serials where the hero always overcame impossible odds to rescue the heroine from an impossible situation and the villain was always defeated. Either that or the Hollywood musical of the 1950s such as Carousel or South Pacific, total shite consisting of totally forgettable songs, stilted dialogue and a non-existent plot.
"Jane, would you like to come bird watching, there’s a good chance of a peregrine’s mating display"
"No, I've got to watch Loose Women!"
"Manna for the mindless!"

Manna for the mindless

Deriving from the tag 'Manna for the mind' used to describe books and literature, 'Manna for the mindless' is a disparaging but accurate description of banal entertainment of any sort, particularly daytime television, long running soaps, stupid game shows, chat shows and so on. It consists of material that is so dumb it doesn't require 'dumbing down' and is no more than prdigested pap which can be understood by people with a below normal IQ. Before the advent of twenty-four seven television manna for the mindless was typified by the Hollywood musical of the 1950s. These consisting entirely of eminently forgettable songs joined together by crappy dialogue and a plot so thin you could shoot peas through it.
"Kim, d'you want to come out for a walk?"
"No, I've got to watch Jeremy Kyle!"
"Manna for the mindless!"

mindlessness meditation

A popular form of meditation that is a variation on mindfulness meditation which seeks to undo or diminish consciousness to decrease the possibility of feeling responsible for anything.
I have absolutely no idea why I did that, but recently I’ve been practicing mindlessness meditation; there may be a connection, but I really can’t say for sure.

Mindless Drone

Corporate parasites. Someone who lets the Government and media make their decisions for them. They have no mind of their own.

Mindless Behavior

An American boy band who has performed with other known artist such as Janet Jackson, the Backstreet Boys and Justin Bieber. They consist of 4 boys who go by the names of Prodigy, Roc Royal, Ray Ray and Princeton. Prodigy is best known as the lead singer and is well known to be inspired by Michael Jackson and Chris Brown. Prodigy has a very old-soul/humble type of outlook and carries his self very maturely. Roc Royal, or "Double R" is the rapper of the group. His style is more to be urban and new age with a hint of "thug" to it. Though, his personality is very goofy and outgoing. Ray Ray, who has many other nicknames such as "Ray 2wice" and/or "Dr.Loon" is the rapper/singer of the group. He is very artistic and blunt. Ray loves to share his vision of art, and express his self through fashion and poetry. Last but not least is Princeton! Princeton, known for his diverse afro, is the narrative speaker of Mindless Behavior, sometimes he will also sing. Best remembered for his loved inspirations such as John Lennon, Andy Warhol, David Bowie or Prince. Princeton has a very enthusiastic and loving personality, he loves to spread peace and love through fashion and what ever way he can. 3/4 of MB has their own clothing line. Prodigy, Ostrch Clothing. Ray Ray, APEX 2wice. Princeton, Outsiders Ink. Mindless Behavior has headlined two tours for their albums "#1 Girl" and "All Around The World" with more to come!

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.

endwarfins

The rush of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides triggered specifically by watching the Seven Dwarfs march home singing "Heigh-Ho" — that particular high of pickaxes, whistling while you work, and communal domestic bliss in a cottage built for men half your height.
I only meant to watch the Heigh-Ho scene for the endwarfins, and then it was two hours later and I'd watched the whole movie.

Endwarfins aren't just a Snow White thing — I get the same hit off the Lollipop Guild in Oz.
