Bythos 

Bythos is the second type of Neo-GUILT from the video game Trauma Center Under the Knife 2. It can only be defeated by using the laser on it where after about five seconds, it breaks apart, allowing you to remove the core which is necessary to defeat it. During the game you only encounter Bythos in three different missions. Bythos comes from the Greek word for depth and abyss.

Watari: Bythos is awesome, but I can't beat it!

Fitzgerald: You have to laser it dude! Attack it's weak point for massive damage!

The primary quality is the forthright and unvarnished presentation of reality to the offending party, with the intent to educate as well as excoriate.

Bathos 

A dramatic moment in a work of fiction that's undercut on purpose, usually for a joke. When used well, it's really funny and can be kind of a relief. When used poorly, it can come across as insecure or lazy writing.

Think of a stereotypical line from a Marvel movie, like "Well THAT just happened!" or "He's right behind me, isn't he"

"I hated that new movie, it was so bathos-poisoned it felt completely insincere"
