Manwhile

Manwhile is derived from the English meanwhile, meaning at the same time, but with more testosterone.
Jen and Liz went to go get pedicures in the manwhile, their boyfriends, Chad and Cory were drinking Pabst and punching bears.

Meanwhile in Africa

Used to verbally bitch-slap a person who's complaining about something very small. So small that it is just ridiculous in comparison with some people's problems in the poor Africa.
Eva: "No mayonaise? Argh, could this day be any worse?"
Michael: "Meanwhile in Africa..."

Rik: "Argh, nothing is on TV tonight! Im pissed off!!"
Susan: "Meanwhile in Africa..."

Manweiler

An argument between two or more stubborn people (or groups of people) over trivial facts or insignificant historical events. The situation often will slowly degenerate into a loud spastic game of cards being played into the wee hours of the evening, never actually resolving the initial disagreement.
On rare occasions the opposite may happen, beginning with the card game and ending with the argument.
I took the wife and kids over to Grandpa's this weekend, but after dinner a Manweiler broke out, and we might never get invited back.

meanwhile, back at the ranch

Something you say when someone around you says something that has nothing to do with what your current conversation is about and you want to get back to the other topic.
A: I think it should be brown.
B: Maybe red.
A: Brown matches the rest of the room though.
C: I like bananas.
A: *odd look* ...meanwhile, back at the ranch

meanwhile, back at the ranch

A quote line to introduce a new topic of conversation, or to end a particualarly embarrassing line of talk.

Derived from the old horse operas where action at one point was interrupted to go to the ranch in question; This line being spoken by the narrator in order to assist the hard of thinking. ( A hold over from radio narration style )
A;"Anyway, how did your date with Sarah go?"
B:'OK, I guess . . . Did you know she was a hermaphrodite?"
(Silence)
A:"Meanwhile, back at the ranch . . . "
