Noun. A banal thought terminating cliche used by boomers and boomer sympathizers to convey the failed "conventional wisdom" of their generation. These cliche sayings are typical political or economic in nature and are refutable by hard real-world evidence.
The burden of evidence required to refute a "boomerism" is often substantial, requiring reference to the CPI (Consumer Price Index), Wage Index, or other economic data available on FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data).
Millennials and Zoomers are too busy working their jobs as senior economic analysts, program directors, or serving coffee to pay off students loans, to refute boomerisms.
None the less, entitled boomers feel obliged to be provided with hours of high valued consulting work, at no cost, to disprove them. Millennials and Zoomers have adopted a strategy of responding to boomerism with the much less costly "Ok Boomer".

Get the Boomerism mug.The systematic extermination of all boomers to protect the planet from their destructive behaviors. Some have said that Coronavirus Covid-19 is Earth's first attempt at the boomercide as it has a high mortality rate for boomers but essentially nobody else.
The boomercide will happen when the boomers are taken to an island which will be nuked as the zoomers zoom away on speed boats.

Get the boomercide mug.Shitty code written by the previous generations of programmers (typically Boomers) that did nothing but produce technical debt for millenials and Gen Z programmers to clean up, thus killing the thrill and joy they expect to find based off of several popular YouTube programmers chronicling their lives at more modern tech companies. Most often you will find this regards developers who were huge advocates of a specific vendor that is notorious for pushing sub-par software packages on the industry for profit (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, IBM).
Typically stacks filled with boomercode feature a wide set of redundant infrastructure, overengineering, technical debt and obscure proprietary softwares with no real value, such as EDI. The authors of such code typically also mock modern web standards and design practices. All while being unable to give a coherent explanation of their design choices.

Get the boomercode mug.The period in the life of an individual born approximately between the years 1945 and 1964 in which a person is considered a boomer. Common habits of this stage include endlessly criticizing the consumer habits of millennials, calling companies to determine the hours in which they're open rather than doing a simple google search, viewing college tuition as only mildly affected by inflation, referring to the Czech Republic as Czechoslovakia even though that is no longer its official name, referring to a conference as a powwow, and above all, attributing the majority of economic problems to millennials.
Walter is at the pinnacle of boomerhood. He refuses to retire, scoffs at the latest iPhone commercials, reminisces that he only had to work for three summers to fully pay off his college tuition, rewears the same 'Nantucket 1970' shirt at social events, and loves to reuse the old platitiude "you can't have your cake and eat it to" at office meetings.

Get the Boomerhood mug.The "BoomerLib" is a highly self-assured person of Baby Boomer age or older holding views promoted by corporate media (CNN, MSNBC, major TV networks and their anchors), left-leaning celebrities (George Takei, Alyssa Milano, Bette Midler, Rob Reiner) and organs of the U.S. Democratic Party. Communicates in partisan, in-group talking points. Pretends to be part of a "Resistance" movement, but supports security state apparatus (CIA, FBI, et al) in order to suppress the out-group. Often angry and hostile to independent thinkers and third parties.
Social media behavior includes posting memes with shallow humor, hyperbole and jail fantasies (particularly obsessed with "getting" Donald Trump). Complains about politicians of the other party going on vacation or golfing. Oblivious to controversies raised by the opposing side and to excesses of their own. Insists that unfavorable election results are due to Russian interference and that anyone with right-leaning opinions is a "Russian bot" or conspiracy theorist. Believes that the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6, 2021 was an event worse than 9/11 or U.S. Civil War. Exhibits difficulty in grasping satire or mockery and incapable of self-reflection or self-criticism. Synonyms: BlueAnon, BlueMAGA
The "BoomerLib" is the near mirror image of the "BoomerCon," (right-wing Boomer and older), an archetype prone to similar communication style: partisan talking points, trafficking in daily outrage, cringey memes and odd capitalization.
