When you act like an idiot and somebody gets irrationally angry about it. The more irrationally angry, the smoother the shark.

For instance:
Man 1: "2+2 = 5"
Man 2: "You are such a fucking moron, you absolute buffoon. How can you be such an idiotic dumbass? What a fool you must be. I feel ashamed even reading this absolute failure of "math" you've disgraced this planet with. Go to hell"

Dude, shark smoothing is so fun! I shark smoothed a guy yesterday so hard his eyes were red from the frustration, and he was drenched in sweat.

When you go into a bar or club, apply superglue to where the jukebox is plugged into the wall, wait 5 mins, then max out the jukebox on continuous plays of the Rob Thomas + Santana classic collab 'Smooth' and then wait or scram depending on bravery.

Can also apply to playing the song repeatedly or DJing the song in such a way as one copy of the song is scratched in / beatmatched with another copy of the same song. The more inappropriate the social setting, the more successful the smoothing.

- 'Dude these wings are cold!'

- 'Fuck that we're smoothing the joint then...'
