one upmanshit 

A phenomenon that occasionally occurs in social gatherings that devolve into a nostalgia-fest conversation about fecal incidents such as soiling underwear, quality bowel movement and/or alcohol fueled defecating incidents. Inevitably, the conversation becomes a string of awful fish-stories about large bowel movements and creative placement and/or uses of them. The conversation becomes more and more repugnant at a exponential pace. Ultimately, the least attractive person of the coversation wins with the most horrifically grotesque story about his or her colon meat.

"...Last week, at Joe's bachelor party, Eric told us this story about crapping his pants on the way home from work that week. For some reason, the stripper decided she should become part of the conversation and told a story about how she once deuced through her g-string thereby cutting the turd in two. Eric rebutted by regaling us with a tale of a boat trip where he made some starboard diarrhea or something like that. That touched off about an hour of one upmanshit where each had one less appetizing story after the next...."

A situation in which two or more people trade an ever-escalating quantity of puns on a given topic, ending only when all except one have quit due to tiredness/boredom/psychosis/etc.

(Upon seeing that it's snowing outside)

Person A: "Snow it begins!"

Person B: "Snow comment."

Person A: "Why do you have to be snow cynical? If you don't like it, you could at least flake it."

Person B: "Whoa! Don't get flurrious with me just because you can't sleet things from my point of view."

Person A: "I have to admit: I wasn't expecting such a chilly reception. Anyway, you may be a bit of an ice queen right now, but I bet you'll warm up to things eventually."

Person B: "... You win."

Person A: "Ha! In pun-upmanship, there can only be pun!"

prop. n.; University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, in reality a gigantic corporation almost completely unrelated to said University. Although its Pittsburgh-based chain of hospitals (usually) provides world-class care, UPMC is notorious for opposing competition, free-market capitalism, and above-minimum wage for its employees.

UPMC bought out the small-time Catholic hospital, tore down the historic building, and built a luxury office for its President in its stead.
