1) when referring to (radio) broadcasting, includes frequencies ranging from 1.7 to 30 MHz (1700 - 30,000 kHz), but sometimes refers also to the HF frequency spectrum from 3 to 30 MHz

2) An adjective referring technically to radio waves shorter than 80 meters, corresponding to a frequency of 3.75 megahertz or more. The term is often loosely used to refer to HF frequencies.

3) In radio communications, pertaining to the band of frequencies approximately between 3 MHz and 30 MHz. Note: “Shortwave” is not a term officially recognized by the international community.

I listen to pirate radio stations on my shortwave radio.

shortascammed 

When a short person cunningly convinces you to trust them , despite your basic human instincts. And then proceeds to elevate their self esteem by fucking over a taller person than them .. to make themself feel better about being vertically challenged.

Despite my gut feeling, i was still shortascammed by a little fucker.

shortmans' syndrome 

Highly toxic degenerative complex that often affects males 5'8" or less in stature.

Can have a seroiusly adverse affect on those within earshot of persons afflicted with this unfortunate condition.

Symptoms and side affects of shortmans' syndrome can include:

- Snide, nasty bitchy comments and one-up-man-ship about anyone employed to work with/for the shortman
- Insecure behaviour, especially when others joke about small penises
- A fast car with a long bonnet
- Often seen "hanging out" at that bar, either sitting bolt upright on a bar stool or slouching in a booth, bragging loudly and buying anyone/everyone drinks and then getting really annoyed when no-one reciprocates
