pseudocoma

A term to describe a level of near- unconsciousness, also referred to as “locked-in syndrome,” in which you appear to be comatose but are able to sense what is going on around you.
She appeared to be in a coma because she couldn’t move or speak but it turned out she was actually in a pseudocoma.
