Jimmy Carter

Served as the 39th President of the United States from January 20, 1977 to January 20, 1981.

He’s an amazing human being, who has devoted his post presidency to helping others through Habitat for Humanity and the Carter Center. At almost 95 years old, he’s still going strong and can run circles around Donald Trump aka Captain Bone Spurs. Despite being the oldest of the five living Presidents (Jimmy Carter himself, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump), he does the most good for the world, and works the hardest.
Hannah: Who is your favorite President?
June: Jimmy Carter!

Hannah: Why? He had a bad economy.
June: True, but the other Presidents’ moral character pails in comparison to Jimmy Carter’s

The Vince Carter Paradox

When someone or something is repeatedly called overrated to the point that it becomes underrated by proxy.

Vince Carter was an NBA star who played well in his prime, but he had minimal playoff success and he alienated fans when he forced his way out of Toronto. Despite his stats, he never really elevated teams to that next level. As a result, fans often label him as one the most overrated players of all time. People don't appreciate how good of a player he was and he has arguably become underrated as a result.
Guy 1: Everyone I know says Avengers: Endgame was really overrated.
Guy 2: It can't be that overrated if EVERYONE says it is. It's the Vince Carter Paradox.

crasterful

| CRAH-ster-full |

adjective
To be simultaneously crafty and masterful in an abundantly confident way.

(also: crastery, noun)
The act of being crasterful.

One is crasterful in an authentic way when one demonstrates the depth of one’s skills, knowledge, or experience. In this sense, the crasterful person is a true expert in his or her field and displays a justified level of assuredness.

One is crasterful in an inauthentic way when one fancies oneself knowledgeable but is actually full of shit. This is exemplified when one does not really know what one is talking about but arrogantly rambles on regardless.

Since being crasterful usually manifests itself in the form of explaining something in a very knowing, self-assured way, it can be difficult to discern precisely how knowledgeable the person actually is. While it can be prudent to attempt to determine the authenticity of one’s crastery, this is not always possible. Moreover, contrary to popular belief, crastery does not have inherently positive or negative connotations; rather, it is simply a descriptor that demonstrates someone is “in the zone,” even if that zone is incorrect.

Oftentimes crastery can be expressed nonverbally, usually by flashing a crasterful smile. This look simply says, “You should listen to me, because I know what I'm talking about.” The telltale signs of a crasterful smile are crooked smirks, raised eyebrows, and twinkling eyes. Slow nods are also common.
“My snowboard instructor has been giving me pointers, and thanks to her, I just rode my first black diamond run. I’m glad she’s so crasterful!”

“I am in absolute awe of Neil deGrasse Tyson’s scientific crastery.”

“Take it easy, buddy. I think you may be getting just a bit too crasterful for your own good.”

“In my opinion, Stephen Colbert is the epitome of political pundit crastery.”

“I was really crasterful while writing this definition for Urban Dictionary.”

“J.K. Simmons always gets typecast as ‘that crasterful guy,’ but he’s actually quite an accomplished actor.”

“That’s one hell of a crasterful smile you’re sporting. What’s the plan?”

The striver is an interesting phenomenon that is seen across college campuses. In essence, the striver is an over-achiever who comes from a working or middle class family. He may be an immigrant. He may have been a slacker in HS who was "born again" into an academic wunderkind. Or he may just be an over-achiever who is keeping at it.

The striver is willing to sacrifice his social life at the expense of Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. The striver is the guy who stays at the library long after you are gone. The striver is the guy who takes 30 credits/semester and considers anything below an A/4.0 failure. The striver doesn't work on campus, he is too busy finding ways to pad his resume instead of working retail or workstudy. The striver lets his grades pay his education by applying to ten scholarships a year.

The striver is a future Soros/Fullbright/Rhodes/Gates/Marshall/etc. fellow. The striver lives to study. For the striver, their fun comes from the rewards they expect to receive in return for their diligence. Be it Law School, B-School, academia, or politics. The striver seeks to find the American Dream through academic success.
Anthony was a striver. He transfered from a TTT to an IVY and graduated in 2 years. He studied his ass off and went to Penn Law. He got a Biglaw offer. But lost it all because of an unmoderated mesasgeboard.

- Barack Obama
- Harold Koh

1. Billy hate drafted Chad OchoCinco because he knew Sam had wanted him since he is from Cincinnati. Billy already had plenty of players to fill that position but wanted to make sure Sam didn't get him.

2. Billy hate drafted Peyton Manning because he was the only good quarterback left and he knew Sam had been planning on drafting him.

Utility beer

Utility beer is the beer you keep around for the day-to-day moments when beer is a necessity to assist in pedestrian activities (golf, plumbing, yardwork, babysitting, staff meetings, Zoom calls). For the beer snob it is the beer you save for neighbors when they drop in at 3 p.m. on a Tuesday. It is differentiated from the actual high-end beer you save for special events, holidays, and special tastings.
Person 1: Dave, did you bring along those hazy craft IPA's so we could drink while cleaning Lyle's pool?
Person 2: Nope. I just have a bunch of utility beer that Steve dumped on me. Good enough for this. It is only 10:30 a.m.
