A person who adopts the aesthetics and demeanor of a redneck, without actually being one. Trendnecks might be found all over the US, but they are predominately in the Midwest.
They tend to listen to pop-country singers like Jason Aldeen or Blake Sheldon, drive large pick-up trucks, are over-exaggeratingly conservative (or may identify as alt-right), and may go so far as to adopt Southwestern clothing like cowboy hats and boots or symbols like the Confederate flag.
Where they differ from actual rednecks is that trendnecks are almost always born and raised in suburban areas or even urban areas, or at least in very close proximity to them. Also, some may not explicitly identify as rednecks, though it's very obvious that is what they're going for.
Usually their belief that they are actual rednecks stems from a idea that just because they might do things like hunting or fishing, in addition to the aforementioned things they typically do, that must make them a redneck. However, at the end of the day, they're just middle-class suburbanites.

Person 1: "Why is that guy dressed like Texas threw up. We're in the middle of Green Bay for cripes sake!"
Person 2: "I went to school with him. He's always down at Fleet Farm and he practically worships Carhartt. He couldn't be more of a trendneck if he tried."
