Google Wave is one of the top trending topics on Twitter, but it's been hijacked by hoards of spam peddlers - trendjacking.

Trendjacking is a marketing strategy that leverages popular trends to promote a brand. This approach involves incorporating the brand into trending topics, hashtags, sounds, online challenges or events into content to engage audiences and stay culturally relevant.

Trendjacking helped our brand become relevant and increase awareness by tying our product to a trending challenge on Tiktok that was viral.

transjacking is hijacking of a conversation to make it be about trans people, as a way of engaging in transphobia. (Originally seen in 2017 in subreddit /r/gendercynical)
