The feeling one gets when one badly needs help but is not popular enough to have friends, not rich enough to have employees, and not powerful enough to have lackeys.
Dave needed help but was suffering from a severe case of enturdment as John and Amy were both indisposed.

To make someone curl up emotionally and lock himself inside a defensive external shell like a turtle, usually caused by some extreme unbearable external agent. First used by Marco of Alexandria to name one of his paintings "Enturtled by Doubt" in 2003
