SNIFU (rhymes with snafu) is used as an apologetic message when you accidentally send a text message to the
wrong recipient or
text group. It's an easy way of saying "Sorry, Not Intended For You"
Wendy was always sending text messages to the wrong person. She would start typing her message and
hit send before she realized that she was in the wrong
window. Then she would have to type "SNIFU" to let the recipient of the wayward text know that the message was "Sorry, Not Intended for You"
