Mindie

Music which was formerly described as "indie" music but has since received a great deal of coverage and exposure, resulting in an explosion in its popularity. Thus it is has become mainstream indie or mindie.

Also the kind of music that used to be played at Mixed Bag, every week.

A few years ago it was rare to hear Camera Obscura played anywhere, now they're really mindie. They were even played in NEXT.

Mixed Bag is so disappointing. They don't even pretend to be indie anymore, all they play is the same mindie songs every week.

That band's so mindie now, they were on TMF!

minefielding

To obtain drinks by means similar to theft. Generally refers to picking up half finished and unattended drinks from tables and the sides of bars. But also can mean the use of flirting to get drinks bought for you, as well as simple theft of drinks from persons too drunk/distracted to notice.
The name derives from the danger involved, as you could get a 'mine' (spiked drink)

Also known as minesweeping.

"You so shouldn't have minefielded last night, you were THIS close to being a rape statistic."

"Great minefielding last night! That fat girl was a total chump for buying you drinks!"

Mindie

A beautiful and incredible person who has incredible talents even if they don't entirely realise it yet. They help and support everyone they can and make everyone laugh lots. She is also cracked at every video game they touch.
Everyone will always feel happy having a Mindie in their life !

Dog Shit Minefield

An area of land densely populated by dog turds. The clean land to dog shit ratio is so poor that every step has the potential to be olfactorily fatal.

I went for a walk in the park today, but it was a dog shit minefield so now I have to burn my shoes.

mindie

Mainstream-indie. Word for bands that once were indie or alt but have now either sold-out or received large press exposure causing them to sell out. Basically the terrible bands on the twilight soundtrack and others of that ilk. Can also be bands you've heard of but probably never listened to. like Interpol

disclaimer: these bands aren't necessarily bad

Arcade Fire, Coldplay, Foster the People (i.e. pumped up kicks), Vamp Weekend, The Strokes, Interpol, DCFC, and Muse are all examples of mindie

caution: don't listen to muse, or you will turn into a girl with no taste in anything.
