4-Methylenedioxybenzyl chloride and magnesium turnings in diethyl
ether) and acetonitrile followed by hydrochloric acid work-up. MDP2P can also be synthesized from
wacker oxidation of safrole. Reaction of MDP2P with an ethanol solution of ethylamine and Aluminum Galinstan amalgam reduces the MDP2P-ethylimine intermediate into MDEA. 3,
