fatfishing

Commonly used to describe when individuals (most often females) take pictures at specific angles or lighting to use for online dating/hookups and social media that give the appearance that they aren't fat, when in actuality, they are fat.
Person 1: Damn! She hot!

Person 2: No look she never shows a picture of herself with an exposed midriff. And look at her face, it's a bit chubby.

Person 1: Ah you right she's just another BBW fatfishing us.

hatfishing

When someone on a dating site wears a hat in all their pictures to conceal the fact that they are bald.
This guy is wearing either a cowboy hat or a bandana in every picture. I think he is hatfishing me. He said to send a selfie so I texted him a picture of Betty White.

Catfishing

The phenomenon of internet predators that fabricate online identities and entire social circles to trick people into emotional/romantic relationships (over a long period of time).

Possible motivations: revenge, loneliness, curiosity, boredom

The term catfishing was inspired by the 2010 documentary "Catfish."
Gwen was worried that her online boyfriend was a phoney after she saw a TV program about Catfishing.

Catfishing

Hiding who you really are to hook someone into an online relationship using Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, MySpace or by cell phone.
Guy 1: "Hey so I met this new girl online! She is so hot!"
Guy 2: "Have you ever seen her in person?"
Guy 1:"No, does that matter?"
Guy 2: "Better make sure she's not a catfish.."
Guy 1: "You think she's catfishing?!"

Facefishing

An open-ended, brief Facebook status post, often 1-2 words -- such as "hmmm" or "is" -- that is merely bait, intended to solicit quick bites or responses from your audience pool.
FaceFishing post: Hmmmmm...

Biter #1: What is 'Things that make you go...'? I'll take Alphabet Soup for $400.

Biter #2: WTF? You are clearly fishing for comments with an open-ended "hmmmmm."

Biter #1 again: Maybe he's referring to a hummer received last night...or a tasty treat...not sure? Let's ask...
