An invitation to party via text message. One should not feel as socially obligated to attend as they would be if they were invited by mail or over the phone.

Similar to “Watergate”. Insinuates a scandal caused by several people “conspiring” via text. Can also refer to items in a group text that initiated a conflict.

“You better not let anyone see that, or it will be Textgate 2018 all over again”.
