2. Etymology
It is a compound word combining with "pop" (pop culture) with "-ify" as a suffix to mean "to become", like "-ise / -ize". It is originated from the review of ABRSM 2027–2028 syllabuses from The Heart of the Piano, and he says "The ‘pop’-ification of List B" from his YouTube channel, mentioning some pop music is slowing creeping into the "B" list in ABRSM, like "Enchanted" by Taylor Swift or "What Was I Made For" by Billie Eilish. To turn something into a character from the animated tv show, my little pony friendship is magic. Often used on fictional characters. E.g turning Mario into a pony. Usually rule 85 of the internet states: If something exists, there is a ponified version of it, no exceptions.
