An act of abuse; despoliation; or violation: carried out by an editor on a journalist. The newsrape usually takes the form of an excessive but pointless workload that the journalist has almost no time to complete. The story/stories will then inevitably be almost completely rewritten or scrapped altogether in the subbing process.

Rusty Newspaper

The "Rusty Newspaper" is an act used to describe the actions of a man when he wipes his ass with the front page of the London Times then proceeds to fax the page to his wife when she arrives at work.

Husband- "Did you recieve the paper via fax at work this morning honey?"
Wife- "I did, it seems you've delievered me a "Rusty Newspaper". What for?"
Husband- "You burnt the coffee again this morning you F**king C**t, thats what you get."
Wife- "I hope you at least cleaned the shit off the fax machine".

newsreader's trousers

The type of trousers one wears when walking around one's home wearing nothing but a tee-shirt, are described as newsreader's trousers. This is because some newsreaders, whilst wearing smart jackets and shirts, may have been naked from the waist down whilst appearing behind a television studio newsdesk.

Michael Fish, a once prominent weather presenter on the BBC, was once rumoured to have presented the weather wearing a smart jacket and tie and only a pair of underpants, knowing only his torso was in shot. Hence: Michael Fish once wore newsreader's trousers.
