A goosenbock is a particularly dense, self-assured
fool, blending the flappy, oblivious energy of a silly goose with the
stubborn, heady weight of a strong bock beer. Typically used to describe a dimwit from Ottawa, Ontario, a goosenbock speaks with unearned confidence, misses the obvious by a country mile, and barrels through conversations with all the subtlety of a
tipsy waterfowl convinced it is the smartest
bird on the Rideau. Equal parts harmlessly ridiculous and quietly exhausting, the goosenbock is not malicious, just impressively wrong, loudly so, and utterly immune to correction.
Quinn leaned back, misinformed and beaming, confidently lecturing everyone on
cooking despite clearly knowing nothing about it, the unmistakable posture of a goosenbock in full
bloom.
