Flapula

The wiggly, jiggly padding that lives on the upper back right over the shoulder blades—basically the scapula’s built-in cushion. Often makes a surprise appearance when someone waves, stretches, or puts on a tight shirt, gently flapping like it’s trying to take flight.

He reached for the top shelf and his flapula did a little encore performance.
• That tank top is brave—it’s really putting the flapula on display today.
