Uncanny Valley

First theorized by Japanese roboticist Masahiro Mori in 1970, the Uncanny Valley basically states that the closer a robot or other nonhuman entity gets to resembling a human, the more humans will like and empathize with it.

However, there is a point in development where humans instead become strongly repulsed by the barely-human robot/entity. Fortunately, this effect fades as the robot/entity becomes less distinguishable from a human.

Although hotly debated, the theory is present in many sci-fi movies and the like, and has been used to explain people's reactions to some computer generated characters.
I can't get into "Rumble Roses" because the girls just don't look quite right to me. I guess it's the Uncanny Valley at work.

Mr. Incredible becoming uncanny

Mr. Incredible becoming uncanny is a meme containing dark humor involving a Pixar character "Mr. Incredible". The meme contains Mr. Incredible's face, getting unhappier (also known as "getting uncanny") and darker as the background music becomes more disturbing. Fans of the meme claim there are 10 phases in the original version.

There is an extended version of the meme, which contains over 22 phases. The extended version contains graphical imagery which may not be suitable for young children.

Then there is "Mr. Incredible becomming canny" which is the exact oposite of the original meme. The meme still involves Mr. Incredible, this time he is becoming happier (or "canny"), which contains 10 phases.

The full extended meme contains all three versions of the meme; original uncanny, extended uncanny and canny.
Dave: "Hey have you seen the Mr. Incredible becoming uncanny meme?"
Cody: "Yeah, it's pretty weird"
Dave: "I pretty much like it!"
Peter: "Yeah me too!"

Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny and Canny at the Same Time

This is like the fusion sequel of the meme Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny where Mr. Incredible progressively becomes more and more traumatized and ascends simultaneously, which can lead to him becoming potentially insane both inside and outside the mortal realm and the universe itself.

The meme has reached the point where people fusing the same level of phases of 2 versions of Mr. Incredible Becoming ??? Memes combined to uniquely milk the meme. This form of the Mr. Incredible meme is only used in template-like formats.
Has the meme died yet?

Nope, there's Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny and Canny at the Same Time, giving more people ideas to uniquely milk the meme

The Uncanny is a Freudian concept of an instance where something can be familiar, yet foreign at the same time, resulting in a feeling of it being uncomfortably strange.

Because the uncanny is familiar, yet strange, it often creates cognitive dissonance within the experiencing subject due to the paradoxical nature of being attracted to, yet repulsed by an object at the same time. This cognitive dissonance often leads to an outright rejection of the object, as one would rather reject than rationalize.
The state is first identified by Ernst Jentsch in a 1906 essay, On the Psychology of the Uncanny. Jentsch defines the Uncanny as: "doubts whether an apparently animate being is really alive; or conversely, whether a lifeless object might be, in fact, animate", and expands upon its use in fiction:

β€œ In telling a story one of the most successful devices for easily creating uncanny effects is to leave the reader in uncertainty whether a particular figure in the story is a human being or an automaton and to do it in such a way that his attention is not focused directly upon his uncertainty, so that he may not be led to go into the matter and clear it up immediately.

Super Idol Becoming Uncanny/Canny

A well-made and popular parody of the meme Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny and Mr. Incredible Becoming Canny combined with the Super Idol ηƒηˆ±105Β°Cηš„δ½  meme. Where Tian Yiming (or the Super Idol ηƒηˆ±105Β°Cηš„δ½  guy) progressively becomes more traumatized or ascended depending on the context of the image of what he is seeing (Basically... The same as Mr. Incredibles.... yeah....) while he sings the Super Idol part.

The most popular uncanny template was initially made by Just A Happy Troll on Mar. 2, 2022, and the most popular canny template was created by Chiew Ming 97.
Example 1:

- Meme starts with the canniest one where you've drawn a character as a biblically accurate angel in a well-made and immersive environment and ends with the most uncanny where you've pulled all the worst categories of what to put your character's fanart possible (if you know, you know)
