Having a primary romantic and/or sexual attraction to transgendered individuals. This may or may not be inclusive of all specific permutations of people who identify in the nonbinary gender spectrum. For example, one might have a transensual orientation and specifically be attracted to individuals on the female to male (FTM) gender spectrum, such as butch identified women, masculine females, non transitioning transgendered males and/or FTM transsexuals (transmen). Identification of transensual orientation may be used in conjunction with a descriptor of gender identity, e.g. "transensual femme", and can be augmented with more specific identification of sexual/romantic orientation, e.g. "transensual femme primarily attracted to MTF (male to female) lesbians, transgendered butches, and straight transmen."

not to be confused with: intersexed - one born with mixed or ambiguous genetics; crossdresser or transvestite - one who dresses in the attire of the opposite sex, for males anything from panties or stockings to dresses and makeup; drag queen or drag/king - one who performs in attire of the opposite sex, usually a gay male or female entertainer...

transgender is simply an umbrella term for all of the above...the vast majority are crossdressers...NOT transexuals...wearing a dress, however pretty, does NOT mean that a guy is a transexual...and transexuals can be straight, gay or bi...

i can't believe the crap that's been written here about transexuals...it's all about gender identity and NOT just expression...

me...technically, i'm a M2F transexual, but i prefer to be known as a "transgedered woman"...since it's about gender identity and not sex...and i'm straight...i only date men...

think about that...if i dated women i'd be a "trans-lesbian"...

A (usually male) person attracted to (usually MTF) transsexuals. The transsexuals usually have been on hormones for an extensive period of time and have a mostly female body shape (and gender identity), except that they also have a penis. Transsensuals are sometimes referred to pejoratively as tranny-chasers.

Increasingly used to describe <i>anyones'</i> attraction to <i>any</i> trans-person, primarily referring to transsexuals (M2F/F2M), though many forms of gender variant may be spoken of.

Serviceable, but not currenty considered "the final solution" in describing attraction to trans-persons, largely due to its vague inability to describe what it means <i>without</i> someone explaining its definition, as well as the "tranny-chaser" connotations surrounding the word.

This word, along with transsexual, are frequently being spelled "transensual," and "transexual," as a vestige of earlier trans-person reclamation attempts.

I'm a <i>transsensualist</i>, I enjoy dating gender-queer persons.

Oh, I'm a <i>transsensual</i> transexual. I only date other trannies.
