singlette

In a laboratory setting, a singlette refers to a measurement that is being performed only once per sample in an experiment. It complements the terms duplicate and triplicate, where two and three replicate measurements would be performed per sample, respectively.

To quantify the PCR amplicons, we are running the standards in triplicates and the samples in singlettes.

Stingettes

A college dance-team at Alabama State University out of Montgomery, Alabama. They are known also as being under a lengthy leadership of Elisa "Lisa" Porter. They are currently led by the most infamous Shakeidra Jones aka KeKe. The Stingettes are also known for many other well-known captains such as; Ty Q Harrell, Lauren Brown, Victoria Betts, Jordan Carter, Romisa Hill and Ashley Harris. These ladies are known for their 8 counts and 16 counts and are rivaled by many, but no need to discuss them. Some fans describe them as Sting Sting, Sting. Their co-band partners includes Honey Bee's, Ladies of Distinction and Marching Hornets.

singlisten

The act of intermittently singing and listening to a song during the lyrical parts as opposed to singing along.

I can't help singlistening to (insert name of your favorite band) whenever I hear them.

I wanted to sing along during the show but the lead singer was so good I ended up singlistening.

My vocal range is bad so I have to singlisten whenever I jam out in my car alone!

Seglettes

Students at the School for Ethics and Global Leadership in Washington D.C. They live together in D.C., talk to powerful people, take classes, and have super awesome conversations. They are all one-of-a-kind. A typical seglette is ambitious, thoughtful, attractive, and intelligent.

Wow, look at that intimidating group of hot nerds in suits. They must be seglettes! God, I wish I was one of them...

I saw one of the seglettes at the event she organized for her organization. She is so put together!

singletasker

Opposite of multitasker, a singletasker is one who only takes upon one task at a time, and follows it through to completion. Often used sardonically when someone is bragging about their supreme multitasking skills.

Bobby: "Today I'm only going to focus on finishing my TPS reports and not to answer the phone, email, text, IM, staple, and make breakfast simultaneously."

Jeffy: "You are such the singletasker!"

Bobby: "I can't even respond to you at this time, because then I'd be multitasking."

singletrackworld

A website populated by portly mid life crisis sufferers with delusions of gradeur, who think that riding around on an expensive push bike somehow makes up for their dull job in engineering or IT.

Various cliques can be found on this website. The most amusing being the ones who pretend to like something purely so they can be on first name terms with a washed up ex bike journalist come budget bike company owner or some muppet who draws pictures of sheep and waffles on in a pretentious manner. The actual condiment is more entertaining.
