Someone who sits/lays around in an extremely lazy fashion. Can be used as a noun or a verb.

We were trying to go to the party, but John was such a scloff and wouldn't get off the couch.

He smoked way too much and ended up scloffing on the bed for the rest of the night.

A small group of people who say that there is no global warming.Which is similar to when in history the news came out that there smoking causes cancer and there was a small group of people who said it didn't and who were supported by the cigarette companies.
The world has a choice it can believe the scientific communityand work to stop it or those global warming scoffers till it's too late.

Global warming scoffers are crackpots.
