To accidentally create a mess, spill something, drop something, or turn a simple task into an avoidable disaster through clumsiness.

Can you do one thing without pötsching? I only wanted to open the bottle of oil, but somehow I sprayed half the kitchen wall. I totally pötsched. Pötschen is the act of accidentally turning a simple task into a completely unnecessary mess through clumsiness.
