newsac

like its counterpart, musac, newsac is the continuous repetition of the news without any longer being new.
For example, newsac is cable news channels CNN, BBC World, Sky, FOX, the Weather Channel, and radio news stations such as the ABC NewsRadio. It becomes a bland background noise, fills telephone answering systems' on-hold messages, all that's on the hotel TV system (for free), and so on. One could also cite the celebrity news magazines that confront you at supermarket checkout counters.
