detrust

Detrust; meaning to cease trusting something or someone as in “I detrust our government for lying and corruption or I detrust my wife for cheating on me”. Detrust carries a heavier stigma than merely saying, “I don’t trust you anymore” because it implies retroactively eliminating any trust in the past and effectively bars any future trust.
I detrusted my wife Alice once the enormity and scope of her infidelities became apparent to me.
