Being completely, utterly obsessed with Alex Turner, lead singer of Arctic Monkeys. Symptoms may very, but often include: stalking pictures of Alex Turner, daydreaming about Alex Turner, and constantly talking about Alex Turner.

I know. I have a serious case of Alex Turnerism.

Turnerism

A phrase to describe certain lyrics that Alex Turner (of Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets) writes. He comes up with very unique similes and metaphors that he is now famous for. This is referred to as a turnerism.

Listening to Suck it and See: "...You're rarer than a can of dandelion and burdock, and those other girls are just post-mix lemonade..."

Turnism is an illness that effects about one in twenty thousand people. A Turnism sufferer has to face the other way when they are feeling awkward or anxious. Turnism sufferers find it very difficult to meet new people or date, as they often turn their back on the other person within seconds of the first meeting. Turnism sufferers cannot look themselves in the eye, and are very uncomfortable around mirrors. Turnism sufferers, like to eat alone, and will take food to a private place, like a toilet cubicle or broom cupboard. Acute symptoms of Turnism, will lead sufferers to turn their IDs back to front in their wallet and even request to face downwards in their coffin upon their death; which typically occurs through a road traffic accident.

"John, what is wrong with your friend; why is he facing the other way?"
"Don't worry Bill, Peter sufferers from Turnism!"

turbosmurfing

when someone is playing a game or sport exceptionally well; a player who appears to be a level above everyone else around is turbosmurfing.

In video games, someone who is beating everyone else badly can be considered smurfing. Smurfing is when a higher skill player uses an alternate, fresh account and gets paired with lower skill players, so they end up beating everyone else badly. Turbosmurfing is the next level of smurfing.

Turnerism

The phrase used for a person who continues to muddle up common phrases with there own take, most commonly used in the North-West of England, especially Cheshire.

"We've been best friends since sliced bread" as opposed to "That's the best thing since sliced bread" Or "Alls I know is hows about your mum mwaa" As opposed to all I know is how your mum is" When somebody gets it wrong they've had a " Turnerism "

turboisland

A small littered patch of urine-stained grass outside an off-licence, often frequented by screeching drunkards with varying mental disorders, including paranoid schizophrenia, morbid obesity and varying obsessive-compulsive disorders.

Turboislanders can be seen in many UK towns, where society's more vulnerable old people congregate to abuse passers-by and each other whilst holding carrier bags filled with super-strength lager.

Whilst often sad to observe, their hysterical antics are rarely threatening and mostly rather humourous given that they are so few in number and so mentally imbalanced.

Also known as "schizoisland"

"I'd sooner take the car than walk to the shops, I fear those poor old folk will be occupying turboisland on such a fine evening, and I would rather not be subjected to a spit-fleckled rant about lumpen proles and pub deejays"
