noun; someone who attends or formally attended William Smith College (of Hobart and William Smith) and displays qualities stereotypical to that school, i.e. wearing of pearls, pastels, or Lilly brand clothing; driving a cherokee; getting drunk on cocktails; implying having come from "old" money or being related to a Kennedy; calling all girls sweetie.

Alan Smithee

A pen name that directors use when they want to disown a movie they made. Can also be used for when someone is so ashamed of something they did.

Twilight was not directed by Alan Smithee. What a surprise.

Adam Smithee

Made-up film director name. When a movie turns out so bad the real director doesn't want his name associated with the project they may use this name instead. Sidney Lumet, Dennis Hopper and Sam Raimi have used the pseudonym respectively.

"I can't believe my movie turned out so crappy, better slap Adam Smithee on the credits or else my career's over."
