shogress (n.)

Making a SHow of proGRESS rather than accomplishing anything that could actually be construed as having any value to anyone for any purpose. Actions that cannot be related to any goal or objective. Shogress typically occurs when everyone in the organization is 'aware' and there is a 'network' and a lot of 'buzz' and everyone 'is talking about this now' but measurable numbers related to the project objective haven't budged a bit, or have trended less favorably.

A situation that would be described as shogress (n.):
Question: "The October goal was 7% over last year. Did they meet that number?"
Answer: "They nominated a new Champion for that area, and they also sent in examples of their marketing collateral for everyone to review. I posted it on the website!"

Absolute-slowness

The waitress who serves me in my local cafe suffers from absolute-slowness. It is usually characterised by having a big pale ugly face, no manners or respect and the general demeanour of having taken 67 valiums and a few bottles of vodka.

It should also be noted that those affected tend to move in slow motion so do not be alarmed this is normal as they are out of sync with our time-frame.

Customer 1: "Hello, I'd like a some soup please."
Waitress 1: "Ok it'll just be a second"

*goes away and grows the vegetables and grain and slaughters the cow herself*

Customer 1: "What the hell's up with the Absolute-slowness today!!"

Snowpression

A mood disorder resulting from continuous weekly snowstorms that require a minimum of one hour shoveling. Symptoms include, muscle stiffness of your entire body, repeated cursing of snowplows, and an unexplainable hatred towards your local weatherman. Snowpression is commonly seen in the Northeast. The only known treatment is a phenomenon known as spring.

After Boston received another 20" of heavy wet snow, the local hospitals saw an outbreak of Snowpression.
