Skiginner

A portmanteau of ski and beginner, referring to an individual who is new to the sport of skiing and is in the early stages of acquiring fundamental skills such as balance, turning, and speed control. A skiginner is typically characterized by the need for introductory instruction, cautious progression on lower-difficulty slopes, and the use of equipment suited to novice skiers.

Ski instructors recommend that skiginners start on designated green runs to build confidence and proper technique.
