A word that should be in the dictionary, but isn't. Concept created by comedian Rich Hall.
"DISCONFECT (dis kon fekt')
v. To sterilize the piece of candy you dropped on the floor by blowing on it, somehow assuming this will `remove' all the germs" is one of my favorite sniglets!
Is a piece of dried feces that has entangled its self in the fur of an animal, usually located in the ass region. Not to be confused with a Wilnot or a Dingle Berry as a shniget is generally associated with animals and can also appear in other fur covered areas outside the ass region.
Word Origin: Early 1980s, Oyama, British Columbia, Canada.
"Get the scissorshoney, the damn dog has another shniget attached to it's ass"
(n.) A word that should be in the dictionary but isn't. The word is derived from an HBO show from the early 80s titled Not Necsessarly the News. Sniglets was a segment on the show by Comedian Rich Hall.
The word Musquirt was one of the many Sniglets, Its that runny stuff that comes out of the mustardbottle before the mustard does.
A Sniglet is any word that doesn't appear in the dictionary, but should.
The Sniglets books were made in 1984 and 1985 by Rich Hall, a writer/actor for HBO's "Not Necessarily the News", "Fridays", and "The David Letterman Show".
The illustrations of the two books were made by Arnie Ten, an award-winning cartoonist living in Brooklyn.
Since the Sniglets's first airing on "Not Necessarily the News", thousands of viewers contributed to the books with their own Sniglets.
A few Sniglets:
"Eufirstics (yew fur' stiks) - n. Two people waiting on the phone for the other to hang up first."
"Nevitts (nev' itz) - n. The sandpaper-like deposits on a cat's tongue."
"Shocklet (shahk' lit) - n. The seldom-used third hole on an electrical outlet."
"Yotate (yoh' tayt) - v. To allow a yo-yo to unwind itself."
Plagiarizing the 80's fad of a 'sniglet' which was a term originated by writer/comedian Rich Hall as defining "any word that doesn't appear in the dictionary, but should" and calling it "The Urban Dictionary".
