The term originates from the accusation that, while serving as the Director of Public Prosecutions, Starmer failed to prosecute notorious paedophile Sir Jimmy Savile, sparking fervent defence from his followers.
Even after the scandal broke, the Savilistas were out in full force on social media, defending Starmer no matter the evidence.
