McCarthyist

A conservative who uses fear-mongering, smear attacks, and lying to silence or ruin the reputation of anyone who disagrees with them. Named after the infamous Senator Joseph McCarthy from 1950's
Even after the McCarthyist was caught red handed persecuting someone for practising their right to free speech, the McCarthyist still tried to play the victim.

McCarthyist Zombies in green

In the Philippines, they are known as supporters of presidential candidate Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro. While they keep on telling the world that they practice positive campaigning and abhor mudslinging Gibo, they are the best definition of oxymoron as they do the exact opposite - they do character assassination in the form of red scare, an archaic practice which the late Joseph McCarthy popularized in the United States in the 1950s. This species was discovered in Facebook a few days before the Philippine national elections.
These McCarthyist Zombies in green are very supportive of eliminating activists in the Philippines based on how they behave on Facebook.

Neo-McCarthyism

Neo-McCarthyism is when you investigate just about everything about everyone out of paranoia. Over-thorough secrurity inspections at airports are an example of Neo-McCarthyism. This term was coined by Mike Newhouse in the classic movie Dazed and Confused.
Mike: I didn't think drugs and alchohol were such a big deal they had to resort to Neo-McCarthyism to get rid of it.
Pink: I think they're just worried that some of us are having too good a time.
