mental hernia

A condition in which part of your brain tissue is displaced and then bulges out. This state occurs due to the absorption of too much information memorized for an exam and forgotten immediately after taking said exam. Usually take place during college finals. Condition should be taken seriously and is best assuaged by watching television, eating junk food, or in case of emergencies, mindlessly staring at a blank wall.

First guy: "Man, I totally got a mental hernia from memorizing all that BS for my exams."

Second guy: "No worries, just stare at that wall."

Sports Hernia

Also known as "athletic pubalgia", a sports hernia occurs when there is a weakening of the muscles or tendons of the lower abdominal wall. It is not a true, or "inguinal hernia" as there is no bulge or protrusion through the inguinal canal.

Diagnosis is often very difficult, and many doctors will initial diagnose the patient with a pulled muscle or sprain. Ultra sound and MRI are most effective to detect a tear, although sometimes it still goes undetected.

The only effective method of treatment is surgery, though unfortunately after years of countless operations, it is considered "experimental" by many insurance companies.

If someones had a sports hernia that means that they were going "balls to the wall" and are super hardcore!

Hernia

A protrusion of the intestines and other abdominal organs out of the abdominal cavity and under the skin. Typically can be repaired by pushing the organs back into the abdomen and placing a teflon grid over the area under the skin to prevent recurrance. Typically occurs in males.

The doctor made me turn my head and cough to test for a hernia.
