Brainshank

Brainshank:
Verb
A form of psychological abuse:
1) an attempt to destroy another's perception of reality or drive insane by manipulating small elements of their environment, and subsequently insisting that they are mistaken or misremembering when they point out these changes.

2) the intent of making a victim doubt his or her own memory, perception, and sanity. Instances may range simply from the denial by an abuser that previous abusive incidents ever occurred, up to the staging of bizarre events by the abuser with the intention of disorienting the victim.

brainwanking

Any intellectual/academic discussion meant more to show off the intelligence of the speaker than to prove a point or educate anyone listening.
Freudian literary criticism is pretty useless, to be honest; eventually they stop talking about literature entirely, in favor of pointless brainwanking.
