Used specifically on Twitter to refer to people who support Matteo Salvini, the Italian far-right leader. An average salvinut is distinguished by an Italian flag and a cross emoji to highlight their Italian and Catholic values. Salvinuts don’t usually tweet; they rather engage in replying to other people from different sides of the political arena. Some of them are distinguished with a pin tweet that says “my previous account(s) have/has been suspended. Let’s get back in touch.” Salvinuts are close friends of Maganuts but they cannot communicate with each other because of linguistic barriers.
