Sound or exclamation of confusion, originating from the French word meaning what.

- Quoi? What was he doing mowing his lawn in winter?

quoi de neuf ?

Very usual french expression when you meet someone you haven't met for a long time. Literally, "quoi de neuf" means "what's new" but can be used as "what's up".
Mec 1 : Hé mec, ça fait un bail ! Quoi de neuf ?
Mec 2 : Bof, la routine, et toi ?

Dude 1: Hey dude, it's been a while! What's up?
Dude 2: Dunno, routine, and you?

quoi de neuf

A Francophone phrase which is literally translated into English as "what's the nine?" but is supposed to mean "how are things?" or "what's up?" in French
"Salut Edouard, Quoi de neuf?" Hi Edward, what's up?

Quoi? Ah... le probléme est je ne parle anglais.

Literally, it means "What? Oh.. the problem is, I don't speak English" in French. This is a diversionary tactic to avoid someone who is trying to talk to you.

Pronounced "Qwah? Ah... lay problemay ess jhu nay parle ahnglayz".

Remember to roll your "r"s.
Ugly girl at party: Hey there, cutie! What's your name?

You: Quoi? Ah... le probléme est je ne parle anglais.
