The word originates from the mid 17th century and derives from French népotisme or Italian nepotismo, from nipote ‘nephew’ (with reference to privileges bestowed on the ‘nephews’ of popes, who were in many cases their illegitimate sons).

Nepotite

The word used to decribe a relative (usually a child) of someone who has been given a job undeservingly.
Comes from "nepotism".
The person is a total slacker where he/she works, but cannot get fired because they have a relative who is in the upper tiers of management there.
