Call center slang. This word encompasses the statistics that are taken on call center agents to determine their worth. Usually includes average handle time (AHT), wrap, hold time and a few other basic metrics as well as a few 'spin' metrics added by the client to give the client a feeling of control.

They said Rob got canned because of poor metrics, but we all know the real reason.

Metrics Culture

A subculture gaining traction worldwide, brought about by the ever expanding technologies capable of monitoring performance and bodily functions. Metrics ostensibly meant to help individuals perform better, lose weight, sleep better or just feel better may impart helpful information but also feed a never ending spiral of performance obsession and weight loss fixation. Replacing intuition about one's own body with a set of numbers may move the individual further from reality than closer to it.

Arbitrary unit of measurement used mostly by males. Derived from men overestimating their penis size.

"We got 8 inches of snow last night."

"You're using dick metrics. I just measured and we got 5 inches of snow last night."

When statistics don't seem to matter or apply. The only stat that matters is the W or the L.

For those interested in statistics (again, they don’t seem to matter in Tebow Metrics), Tebow was 9-of-20 for 104 yards passing. He had 68 yards rushing on eight carries. The Broncos won the game... again.

Afety Metrics

An extremely stupid game, consisting of one person farting, then quickly saying 'Afety' before the other person can say 'Doorknob'. If the other person says 'Doorknob' within that small window of time,they can punch the aforementioned person in the arm, without any retaliation, until that person touches a doorknob.

<Poot!> "Doorknob!"
"Ow! Quit hittin' me!"
"You Gotta touch a doorknob!"
"Allright, fine, whatever."
That's a door HANDLE! It has to be a KNOB!" etc...
