Grilliterate

(adjective) - a state of being completely clueless when it comes to outdoor cooking. Grilliterate individuals may be found fumbling with tongs, singeing their eyebrows, and serving up raw chicken to their guests. They are often the butt of jokes at summer barbecues, and are known for their over-reliance on store-bought marinades and pre-made burgers. However, with practice and patience, even the most grilliterate can become master grillers.

"Despite his best efforts to impress his friends with his grilling skills, Jack proved to be completely grilliterate, burning the burgers and undercooking the corn on the cob."
