Frosh Pack

A large herd of roaming freshman typically found on a college campus. There is usually an alpha-male present, i.e. one member of the pack who has connections to elder members of the campus, thus allowing the frosh pack to drink at the elder's watering hole.

A frosh pack, although usually docile, may become more aggressive as the night goes on and the drinks go down. As a result, approach with great caution and never look the alpha-male straight in the eye.

Noun. Term for Canadians who have entered the United States either legally or illegally for the purpose of obtaining employment. Common reasons for their emigration are; lower taxes, warmer weather, and cheap cigarettes.

a geeky backpacker - youngsters which always carry around a backpack stuffed with 'indispensable' gadgetry: laptop, pda, gps etc

also referring to a backpacker with better budget - independent travelers with money to spend.

Your flashpacker friend couldn't possibly enjoy a coffee away from Google. Ok, let's go to Starbucks, they have WiFi there

Flashpacker

Similar to the common backpacker in that they also travel alone or in pairs rather than using tours, and carry the eponymous trekking pack; however they typically are in their 30s and 40s with enough income to stay in guesthouses instead of dorm rooms.

They stay for shorter periods of time and are winning to pay for the fastest or most comfortable means of transportation (but not exclusively).

These travelers might be former backpackers who aren't going to argue over the price of a beer, but still aren't traveling in luxury.

Also, a derogatory term used by backpackers (who also carry gadgets) to describe someone who no longer feels the romance of sleeping with cockroaches or riding the chicken bus.

"Those flashpackers are so inauthentic - I mean, I went 8 days without showering."
