An irresistible impulse to grandstand in order to be seen as a hero. A selfish, lame attempt to enhance one's social status. The word derives from douche (obnoxious, offensive person) and freude (joy). Literally: "joy of being oneself, a douche."

1. Someone who flaunts their wealth in other’s faces. Usually this wealth isn’t earned but inherited.
2. Something you call someone who is rich that you have no reason to hate other then the fact that they are rich and you are not. The fact of the matter is that there is a strong possibility that they didn’t just inherit their money, they actually earned it.
