Nigerian based low level internet scammers usually on sites like Bigo, TikTok, or dating apps will use the word Alaye meaning (AREA BOY or LIKE ME) to see if someone they are preying on if they find resistance to their approach.

They usually follow up with Oro? If you don't respond right away when they text the word Alaye.
