Essentially, it is about a supposed 'fictional' dimension called the "Abyss" where criminals are sent to endure punishment for unspeakable crimes. It was a story told to kids to keep them from misbehaving, yet this fifteen year old boy gets sent there for an unexplained reason. He escapes with some help and ends up ten years in the future. Once in the future he is recruited by an organization called Pandora to help them to discover what the Abyss actually is.
The anime is twenty-five episodes (completed) and deviates from the Manga. The manga is still ongoing.
This series features heavy references to Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Caroll, and Through the Looking Glass.
