A bit like trainspotting (standing on railway bridges wearing an anorak) but with the additional excitement of taking photographs of trains rather (or in addition to) writing down the numbers.

I went train photting yesterday and photted 60009 Union of South Africa. It was two hours late!

Phottom 

A phottom is the kind of guy that has no actual talent or qualities, but is so desperate to impress people that he goes as far as stealing other people's work and claiming it as his own. Gets along with everyone until someone finds out he's a complete fraud.

Sometimes also referred to as a thottom.
