Apparently, it is part of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. The legal status of merissual relationships varies enormously from one state to another and still remain jurisdictions where certain merissual behaviors are considered crimes and are punished with severe penalties, including the death penalty (fully agree).
