Origin: James Mattis was the only Secretary of Defense ever to resign in protest of a US President's @-hole decisions about foreign policy and his methods of dealing with our allies and enemies. He gave Trump one last chance to reverse course and NOT pull out of Syria, leaving the Kurds to fend for themselves. When DJ refused, he handed him a politely worded F-you letter of resignation, then had the text released from the Pentagon to all major media outlets. 😁
